This DVD is not only a "sit-down and watch it once" video, it is excellent to play every night as you go to bed. We have learned so much about who Jesus is and what He really came to do from listening to and watching this video. Our disc has lasted from countless viewings; we want to have additional ones available for whenever ours might bite the dust. Plus, it makes an incredible gift to some who is hungry for Truth. Our grandchildren even like it and have memorized parts of scripture because of it. The portrayal of the healing of the blind man is wonderful. EXCELLENT AND BELIEVABLE PORTRAYAL.

I have to join fellow reviewer Darrell in shouting that "THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST REALISTIC ADAPTATION OF A BOOK IN THE BIBLE THAT HAS BEEN DONE". My family and I first experienced it in snippets shown over several months at the contemporary worship service we attend. I finally ordered the DVD so we could watch it beginning to end. There really isn't enough that I can say in its favor. The publishers blurb comparing it to Mel Gibson's "Passion" really does it a disservice. No other film even comes close to this one in both its fidelity to the text and emotional power (I think the latter is the result of the former). Every one should see this movie at least once.

This is a must own and a must watch! It's just like reading the book of John without the reading. Very good to watch after reading the book of John yourself. The Lord can speak to you through this movie as well. I know He did to me! OMGoodness!! Amazing movie as well as acting!

I just watched this over the weekend and will just say that I was truly blessed. I appreciate the way the film was made. It helped me to hear the words of Christ from a true perspective, not a theatrical one. From the very beginning I felt like I was right there walking with Jesus. Thank you!!!

Due to different languages for all to hear and see the Gospel of John, I have given some CD's to some different nationalities of friends and they were thrilled to see and hear this CD. One young Indo-Canadian saw it and it made her faith stronger as hearing it in her own language..It's a CD of a great witnessing tool!

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. Despite the fact it is based on the GNB translation which is more loose than say, the NIV, it is very accurate and flows really well in a movie. I like this movie better than the Matthew DVD, it is a much better production and the actors, especially the one playing Jesus, did a much better job in my opinion (not to be demeaning of the Matthew DVD actors, but just saying the John DVD actors did a much better job, and so did the production crew).Overall, this is one of the best life of Jesus movie I have ever seen, right on par with Jesus of Nazareth (but actually more accurate than that one).Will be watched at least once a year at my house!

One of the best movies I have seen. This has become my families choice movie during Easter and Christmas time, we bought this movie when it was first release, borrowed it to as many people as we could, we wanted a spare and found Christianbook.com awesome deal on this movie!! A word for word narration of the Gospel according to John. I know your family will love it!

My Sunday School class purchased The Gospel of John, The Ministry Edition. The class learned so much from this DVD, and actually seeing the miracles, and Jesus performing them. The movie definitely does a great job showing Jesus as the Wonderful, and Mighty Counselor. The miracles Jesus performed, Turning Water to Wine, Bringing Lazarus back from the Dead, Jesus walking on Water, and the man crippled at birth, were also very well illustrated in the movie. I have never seen a better production of the Gospel.

Greetings, Well, when I watched the DVD of "The Gospel of John, Ministry edition; I was greatly moved by the powerful realism of the film and that it followed the Scriptures faithfully. It was totally awesome. I went to bed with the movie on my mind and had such an aura of peace and joy, that I cannot explain it. The only thing that I found missing was the chapter and verse references down in the corner of the screen. I recommend sharing this movie with your family and friends. It's great!

My husband and I absolutley LOVE this dvd! We now know the Gospel of John alot better and have a much clearer understanding. It also help me remember everything and have a clear picture in my head from the begining to end of the Gospel of John. Amazing DVD!!

An extremely good job of portraying Christ! The actor does a superb job in performing the miracles. This film is a very moving spiritual account of Christ's love for the Father. Exact replica of what the Bible says in the The Gospel of John. For people that have difficulty reading and apprehending from the Bible, this movie will put it to you in a visual account that is easy to see. A must see for anybody that is serious to learn more about Christ.

If you like this movie or you were thinking of getting it for your collection, get the ministry edition. I'm personally not to crazy about the Good News translation, but this is a word for word movie straight from the Gospel of John. Lots of extras on both dvds, you can really spend a long time with the extras they provided. The best feature in the ministry edition is you can watch the movie with the option to understand certain contexts of Scripture. If you are looking for a movie about Jesus there have been several made, but this is the only one that gets it to true Scripture. Stick with the Bible, but this is nice to have.

This is my favorite movie next to Mel's Passion Of The Christ. True to the book of John, verse by verse, we see the person of Jesus, and the actor does a magnificent job of portraying Him. I can see the love of the Savior in his eyes. The visual gospel brings it to life and gives us a glimpse of the time when Jesus walked the earth. The great miracles and parables of Jesus are portrayed beautifully. I recommend this to all people who love Him and want to try to look back in time and get a glimpse of Jesus. Awesome movie.

I would highly recommend The Gospel of John, translation of the American Bible Society. I watched the entire movie during Christmas,and was so happy I added this DVD to my biblical collection. The movie is rich in accurate scriptures, and the actor Henry Ian Cusick, is one of the best portrayers of Jesus I have seen. The quality is right up there with the Nativity, Jeremiah, and The Passion.
