An eye-opener even though I lived at the time this was first documented by our troops at Buchenwald. Written from a survivors perspective with details that no one else could have known. Elie Wiesel won the Nobel Peace Prize for this book. His acceptance speech for the prize is included at the end of the book. That alone would make this book worth reading.

What an incredible book. This should be required reading in every school so that we never forget. I'm in the process of reading the entire trilogy and just finished Night. It broke my heart. CBD should make sure this book is always in stock, and every Christian should read it because Judiasm is the foundation upon which Christianity sprang, and for that alone we owe them our respect. May we never forget that Jesus was a Jew.

Excellently narrated. Short and complete. A young man surviving such insane cruelties...in 20th century!!! and reconciling with his life. I suffered a lot in my life including deaths of loved ones, including guilt feelings of not being prepared to be able to help the whole world!!! (or a soldier in the hands of a brutal enemy) from atrocities. This book gives me a lesson about different aspects of life, human's unreasonably cruel dark side, also kind psychology and varied situations that one has to deal with. On the other hand it may stop someone from becoming a maniacal torturer. This book is a lesson for humans and should be a part of High School Curriculum everywhere in the world. A person should learn early on what is nobility and what is not.

This is truly an amazing memoir that brought me back to 1944 and the concentration camps. I've never read a book like this one where I could not put it down . Elie Weisel survived those horrible times for a reason and I believe that he was meant to tell the world the truth about what happened to him, his family, and so many millions of innocent people. I would highly recommend this book, NIGHT, to anyone!

I am a huge fan of Autobiographical books, buit I do have to say that this one very short book is my all time favorite book. It just goes to show you that you don't have to write a 1,000 page book to get to the heart. I have recommended this book to several of my friends, and even let my 18 year old son read my copy of the book, and all greatly love it.
