Linda Nelson5 Stars Out Of 5Thought-provokingJuly 13, 2012Linda NelsonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Written with a preacher's grace for word choice and
a scholar's rigor for clarity. Whether or not you agree on
perspectives or interpretations, Gomes gives us plenty
to ponder with a helpful "long view" through history.
Highly recommended. -

Though it leans more toward the intellectual, and you may need a dictionary close by, Gomes delves into traditional Christian interpretations of the bible through the minds of various early-mid 20th century scholars and compares them to the current modern-day biblical theories and doubts that current Christians possess and question. Using his personal thoughts and opinions, he connects both eras of biblical doctrine and ties them into a nice neat little bow. The gospel and Jesus are debated and analyzed. It allows the reader to contemplate their own beliefs and hopefully achieve a better understanding of the gospel and Jesus and their true meaning and intentions.
