Good story line but it never really got off the ground.

zzz...sorry, love Randy Travis music but an actor he's not. The story line was weird. Don't know why I kept watching...perhaps in hopes it would get better? It didn't.

This movie was terrible. In fact, I found it to be a hugely sexist, John Hagee-pushing, complete waste of my time. Doctrinally, it was scattered all over the place.I couldn't figure out how the Bible verse placards scattered throughout had anything to do with him doing the big hero thing at the end. I suppose the whole "wager" thing was a modern-day story of Job??? Spoiler - Not to mention that his wife rushes back to him at the end without him actually doing a thing to change his marriage. Oh, and the way they portrayed his co-actress was pathetic; but we all know that ALL actresses are blond slutty bimbos whose only purpose in life is to seduce righteous men - right?? I like Randy Travis, and he did okay with his acting, but I thought the whole story line was ridiculous and insulting. I guess the main message to Christian women is that they are expected to come running to the rescue of their poor busy, harrassed husbands - period - keep up the public show because it will rescue your husband in the end. They actually had a fair idea for the movie, and some of the movie effects had a good feel, but the script totally fell short. Reeeally disappointing.

Randy Travis makes some amazing music, and I wish I could say the same about his acting... but, I can't. Poorly written, poorly performed, but at least there were a few good messages hidden within it. But overall... I want my 2 hours of my life back.

I thought that this was a decent movie. While it seems to give you the impression that "Hollywood" can be redeemed, (Difficult at best!Kind of like the camel passing through the needles eye.)I still thought that the story was well done and interesting. Not all situations are dispalyed in a manner of approach that a christian should take. Still I thought the movie was Christ centered and got you thinking about what is improtant in life - Living for Jesus!

This is a boring movie from beginning to end. Randy's music is great, but not his acting. I hope he sticks with music.

Message was good...movie wasn't. DH and I wouldn't watch this a second time. Randy Travis is the big draw here I guess. I don't like his music and, in fact, bought this for a church library. We had difficulty figuring out the plot at times. So much so that I'm a bit leery of saying anything in this review. The sound wasn't good on our copy either...which didn't help.

This was a good movie in that it causes you to think about your life in a way that you might not otherwise be inclined to. The negatives would be that it was a little slow and kind of boring. Your left to guess or assume how certain situations play out.

The movie had potential - it had a pretty good story line. The message of the movie was very good. However, for various reasons, it just didn't turn out to be real good entertainment. The acting wasn't all that good, and the flash back/dream sequences were a bit confusing.

I was a little disappointed with the ending because of what it didn't show for sure. You had to guess that they fixed things. But it was a movie that made me think about my relationship with God. How strong is my conviction and faith? Would I be able to endure?

In my opinion, the Wager was just ok. I used it with some high school age students and they also felt it was just ok.

It was a good movie that showed just how construed the media can make someones life out to be. One should never judge a person without knowing the facts.

Everyday life happens. It's how you handle it and the decisions you make that the outcome depends on. The determination to stick with doing right shows that it might not always be easy, but the result is great in the end.
