Brilliance Audio Firstborn #4: Family Audiobook on CD

In the wake of finding his firstborn son, John Baxter looks for a way to tell his other children the truth about a secret he has kept from them all their lives. At the same time, a sensational Hollywood trial brings Dayne Matthews and Katy Hart together again, this time a very public way. Just when love might have the chance to win, doubts and presumed scandals place them farther apart than ever. In the midst of this crisis, the truth is clear for all of them--never in their lives has family been more important. Abridged.4 CDs. 4 Hours. Read by Sandra Burr.

This series keeps me "hooked" on the story line. Karen Kingsbury's novels are so wonderfully written for Christian readers. There is nothing more important in this world than family and holding fast to God's Word.

This book is wonderful. It makes you fill like you know the Baxters personally. I can't wait to get back and listen to it. It makes you cry like you're involed in their lives. I recommend it highly.

I have not read any of the other Firstborn series books, and, I have just been looking here and found out that there is another whole series, Redemption that I have also missed out on before reading this one book! But, I must say that some of the other reviews of the series that I read, have been interesting. I think these books are a very personal experience, what you get from reading them, what you allow God to teach you through them, etc. I have only read one book, and have not even finished it yet, but it has wet my appetite to read the rest. For the one reviewer who said the Baxter family do not have normal lives, I would say for a relatively "normal" Christian family, raised in the mid-west, good Christian home, etc. they sure seem to have their fair share of problems. Illegitimate children, deaths of young children, Paparazzi hounding a young couple, death of the mom, infertility, etc. I would say, instead of having not too much realism, there is more than enough realism for one family in these books. Karen has worked very hard to make these books realistic. For those of you who like Karen, enjoy. I plan to.
