This book was first published in 1955 and I am reviewing a first edition which is probably the same as this printing. The writer supported a 6 day creation with gaps in the genealogies, making the earth a few thousand years old. A large part of the book is about evolution and it's scientific problems, however there is not much on the theological problems with evolution, for example death and suffering as a way of "creating" animals. Good for 1950's, but better is available now. If you want a Concordia Pub. book, I recommend In the Beginning, God by Joel D. Heck. Or try Master Books or New Leaf Publishing books. (In 60 years today's "evolutionary science" will probably be just as full of errors as this 1950's evolution is now. But God's word never changes.)
