There are not many books you could open and read ANY page and find unusual insight and helpful faith-building words. This classic work fits that esteemed category. Passages which have bewildered me for decades are explained with unequalled precision. Get this volume. You'll be very thankful you did!

Beware this book is not for everyone. If you have been given this book or are ready to read it, it is only because God desires you to have a closer walk with him. The insight can only be from the Holy Spirit and it will force you to take a long look at yourself and the faith you profess. Be encouraged!!

This is a wonderful treatment of the Sermon on the Mount. I am using it for my own personal devotions as well as a Sunday School class I am teaching. I have found it so valuable that I made this purchase as a gift to my newly married son and his wife to help them ensure their spiritual lives are well grounded. A blessing to read!

I have a copy of this I've enjoyed for the last year and now I'm buying more to give as gifts. The book has 60 sermons, all on the sermon on the mount. I try to read one each Sunday afternoon as a sort of devotional / quiet time. They are full of fresh insights, you won't look at Matt 5-6-7 the same again.

I am in the process of reading very in depth study of the Sermon on the Mount. Dr. Lloyd-Jones presents this exposition is in a sermon format which seems to pemeate much easier than a composition. A good read so far.

Martyn Lloyd Jones work on the Sermon on the Mount is great!! I expected this work to be good, and it turned out even better than I expected. I keep going back to this book over and over. Lloyd Jones does a great job with the interpretation of a difficult section in Scripture.I don't know how anybody could not give this classic five stars.

Excellent Book and give it 5-stars for sure. This is the book you want to look at for yourself and for others regarding the ultimate text - (examine), to if you are truly a 100% saved Christian or not. Very detailed and precise Biblical application of God's Holy Word to what it truly means to be a Christian.

This work is definitely a classic. One of the most comprehensive expositions of the the single greatest teaching of Jesus. Martyn Lloyd-Jones goes to great lengths to dissect each verse and word of the the three chapters that comprise the Sermon. It is the kind of book that needs to be read slowly, not because it is difficult, but because it is rich and deep and you want to absorb it all. His interpretation is extremely accurate and defensible. It will will undo all previous incorrect teaching understanding of it, beginning with the Beatitudes. Jones also taught me a lot about how to study any passage in the bible in context and order.This was simply one of the best books I have ever read. Drink deeply. I highly recommend it.

There has never been a book that has moved me so or challenged me as much as this book. These are sermons from the late 1950s and there is a bit of repetition in them (as all good teaching has). Dr. J.I. Packer said that Dr. Lloyd-Jones was the greatest preacher of the last century and influenced him more than any other human being. "The Doctor", was a heart specialist who became a world renowned Bible expositor/preacher. His reverence for the Bible and his painstaking expositons were gleaned from years of careful study and broad reading as well as much prayer. In this frothy age of ours he is a fresh voice to read. I would consider this book to be the finest book on the whole of the Christian life ever to have been penned. It is a great mystery to me how anyone can give this book anything less than five stars. It is a classic and worth its weight in gold many times over. My girlfriend gave it to me when I was 23 and now she has been my wife of 32 years and it is more precious than when I first read it back in 1976. I am now reading it again for the fourth time.

This is truly a classic and it will have a profound effect on anyone who reads it. I know that it has on me. I have already given the book away to several folks, including friends and co-workers. Five stars is not enough for this great work of Dr. Jones which was obviously inspired by the Holy Spirit.
