Jim Elliot spent his youth preparing to share the Gospel with those who'd never heard it. But nothing could have prepared him for the dangers and challenges he'd face in the jungles of Ecuador. The remote Auca tribe was suspicious and antagonistic toward even the most friendly of gestures from outsiders. Would Jim and his fellow missionaries ever be able to break down the hostile barriers and carry a torch of faith to this savage people determined to attack all outsiders?

In this inaugural Torchlighters episode we follow Jim's adventures from his college years to his work in the jungles, showing young people his faith in action as he answers God's call to do the seemingly impossible. As an added bonus, the program includes an interview with Steve Saint, son of Nate Saint, a fellow martyr with Jim Elliot. 30 minutes. Ages 8 to 12.

I got this movie for my son who is 10 he did not like it was very frustrated,for him to see God's people died, and such a bad way.. My husband who also what watch the movie with us also heated he said he will never become a believer that way , that he will turn the other way . I did not like either I think the contest was to strong to watch, and the real meaning was never there... My song was so scare after watching this movies that I had to spend the night with him... He was very scared and unable to go sleep

I recently purchased "The Jim Elliot Story" along with six other DVDs in the Torchlighters series to show to my middle school Sunday School class. I was very impressed with the videos, which are true to the facts about each missionary's life. They are educational, not only for the ages targeted, but adults can learn a lot from them also. They come with many activities for all age levels...coloring and activity pages, puzzles, codes, word searches, etc. My husband watched these movies with me as I previewed them before showing them to my class, and they were so moving that we both sat afterward with tears in our eyes and lumps in our throats...these missionaries were amazing people!

Excellent DVD!! As parents, it is our responsibility to have our children watch, read and listen to Christ-centered material to help them grown in their walk with the Lord. "The Jim Elliot Story" will will edify and encourage your children to put their faith in action. The special features will bless parents as they listen to Steve Saint and Marj Saint Van Der Puy's interviews. My family and I look forward to the next DVD in the Torchlighters Series.
