Filmed against the panorama of the Utah mountains, the tale has something to say about vigilantism in the year 1876 as seen through the eyes of a boy, Billy Baker. Billy's father stands up against those in his hometown who would take the law into their own hands and thereby risks ostracism and economic hardships for him and his family. Billy's fears and frustrations find an outlet in a small red-tailed hawk that he rescues from the jaws of a fox. Along with a secretive hermit, they nurse the hawk and train it to become a proud hunting bird. Approximate running time 98 minutes, color.

This would have been a good story, but the main character's father repeatedly uses the same cuss word. Watched up until that point, as the story was interesting, although low budget. Presented as a family film. It is PG for the cussing and action. Can't recommend to Christian families who don't want that (the cussing) in their dvd library.
