Word Films Rogue Saints, DVD

When childhood friends Nick and Dylan run out of money, they remember the story of a huge diamond buried under a church and plot to dig it up without getting thrown in jail. To disguise their efforts, they volunteer for work at the church, but something about the church and its people begin to affect them. The roller coaster of drama, comedy, adventure, and romance that ensues leads to the discovery of a whole different kind of treasure.

Rogue Saints is the directorial debut of Adam Lubanski (Interactive Graphic Designer for The Amazing Spiderman, Charlie’s Angels, and more) and is a Christian film unlike anything you’ve seen before. Your whole family is sure to enjoy it! Approx. 103 minutes.

Nice comedy that made me laugh and even pulled at my heart a couple of times. The story reminds us of the importance of Christian fellowship. The church is more than just a place to worship God, it's a place to be encouraged and loved in the spirit of Jesus. I can see why it's won so many awards.

This movie was touted as "one of the best Christian films ever produced" and has a string of awards on the front of the case. I was not expecting Hollywood standards of acting and cinematography but at least something closer than most Christian films. The story is cute, if somewhat implausible, but the acting is mediocre at best. All the dialogue sounded as if it were being read straight from the script. Sound quality was poor. Quite a few holes as far as believability, which could be overlooked if the acting and production were a bit better. A couple of funny moments - I'm not above Christians poking fun at our own idiosyncrasies - but they were pretty forced. Not a terrible movie, but definitely not the best that's out there and it did drag at times. Ok for family movie night, although I think even most kids would find it cheesy.

What a great film for all ages! It made me laugh, and the story line held my attention. Sure, it pokes fun at the idiosyncrasies of us "church folk," but it also shows what makes church a loving, caring family. A great Christian film with good acting and with an appeal for everyone. This is definitely a keeper, and I will be recommending it to others who are looking for something fun to watch.

I was searching for another Christian movie title recently, because of my movie group. I have loved many titles in the past, and I’ve always wanted to find Christian based movies which are really good. When I say really good, it’s meaning it has good acting, a great story, and a theologically accurate message. At some point during my search, I saw the trailer to this online and I thought it looked pretty funny. In addition, the concept just looked very promising because of its uniqueness.
Rogue Saints, to be very simplistic is a Christian version of The Lady Killers. To be a bit more specific though, Rogue Saints concerns two guys who have been friends since childhood: Nick and Dylan. Nick and Dylan catch up online one day about how their lives are going, and suddenly remember a story they heard back when they were kids. 30 years ago, a rich old woman named Mother Wright planned to hide a large diamond underneath her favorite church as her way of giving it back to Jesus. Dylan and Nick, both not Christians, decide they want to tunnel underneath this church and steal the diamond. However, in order to do that they have to volunteer their services to the church as janitors and pretend they’re Christians; while digging for the diamond. Will they find something of great value? And will the people of that church impact their lives?
Rogue Saints is a very good film. This is the first Christian movie I’ve seen which involves a criminal operation, and after seeing how well this did I’d love to see more films like this. I thought at times this was funny, especially when parodying certain church goers (which is not meant to be taken seriously), but then there were also more serious moments which gave the characters strong detail in addition to pointing out how important it is to be apart of God’s Family. The story was well written, the effects and video quality were also very good, and the acting for the most part was great. The only downside to this was that I was able to predict much of it, but nevertheless this is a movie I’m glad to have apart of my Christian movie collection and hope to see more movies like this.

With its quirky sense of humor, engaging characters and touching story, Rogue Saints is a fun ride. This is an inspiring movie with a tongue-in-cheek approach to church life. You will not find corny story lines or emotional roller coasters; instead, you will see characters develop in their experiences of loss, anger, faith, despair and hope. You will laugh your way through this thoughtful story of what happens when people engage in real relationships. All of this is wrapped neatly in an original and exciting story of diamond heist and friendship, accompanied by an awesome soundtrack. This is a must-see movie for all ages.

You've got to see one of the best and most meaningful comedy movies made in a long time -- Rogue Saints! Very clever plot and funny script about a diamond heist with a lot of surprises throughout, including the enormous value of the treasure they are trying so hard to find. The colorful, creative, top-quality graphics in this movie set it apart from just about every other film out there -- no wonder it's been selected to be shown at 8 film festivals so far, which is almost unheard of! And you wouldn't believe the incredible reviews that this film is getting, including ". . . the biggest number of laughs I've had at a movie in the last two years . . ." Director Adam Lubanski has worked on several huge Hollywood blockbusters, and he really produced a winner with his debut feature-length film. John Wu and Jason Pead play out their characters like they have always been lifelong friends, with such great timing and chemistry together throughout the film. Pop some popcorn, grab some friends, enjoy some great laughs, and be inspired together over this one!

A great movie for all ages. Clean, good and fun. The lead actors are excellent and the story is full of great twists. I laughed and I got a bit misty-eyed too. It has a deep message about church, family and God's love. Perfect Christmas gift for pretty much everyone on my list.
