Baker Books A Popular Survey of the New Testament

The disconnect of our cultural, historical, and intellectual setting to the world of the New Testament can make studying the New Testament a difficult and confusing process for the average person. This full-color survey is filled with color photos, charts, and maps, and is designed to help ordinary people enrich their understanding of New Testament people and events. This book is evangelical, and answers such important topics such as authorship and audience, Gnosticism, slavery, historical reliability and explains the context and content of the New Testament for anyone seeking a better understanding of the NT.

Norman L. Geisler is cofounder and longtime dean of Southern Evangelical Seminary and Bible College, Charlotte, North Carolina. He is the author of more than sixty books, including A Popular Survey of the Old Testament.

It is a great work from a faithful man of faith.
I did expect it to be a little bit more in depth than it is. But at the same time, like the fact that it sticks to the Bible and doesn't venture off too much into the secular parallels like some of the other Bible survey books.
Overall, would recommend to any everyday Bible student.

Love this book, it is an excellent resource for teachers, study questions at the end of each chapter to ensure that the student(or you) understand the key points of the chapter.

I find this 2-set volume to be very brief but concise for the average lay person who desires a quick, right to the point, reference book on both, the Old and New Testament of the Bible. However, for the more indepth study of the Bible, for the more advanced student, these 2 volumes are not intended to reach into the more thorough depths of Bible study. I would recommend this set to the "everyday" type of Christian as a handy study, reference, resource.

Great overview of the NT! I would say it is a fit for a college freshman course or a course for those at a church that are very serious.

Very organized resource book and learning tool. Reminds me of the textbooks when I was in school. I've used it many times for reference in email and chat room discussions with both Christians and people of other faiths. Wealth of information on eatch book of the New Testament, and it's easy to find anything your looking for real quick if your trying to remember something or point something out to someone else. Frankly this book should be in every church, and would be very useful in youth ministery work.

Geisler's survey of the New Testament is a treasure - packed with useful information and guidance for both the casual reader and the teacher. This book makes the necessary connections to Jesus everywhere. There is no shortage of helpful background to the various divisions of the New Testament. Maps, tables and charts bring the concerts home for the reader. "Survey" covers much more than the usual introductory data and for this reason I highly recommend this book.
