Vision Video The Path of the Wind, DVD

After serving a ten-year prison sentence, Lee Ferguson (Joe Rowley) returns to the small town where he was raised. Looking to lead a simple life, he takes a job at the local grocery store where all he wants beyond a daily routine is to be left alone. But when Lee saves Katie (Liz DuChez) from being assaulted, his life becomes anything but simple. Lee’s budding relationship with Katie is threatened by a scheming coworker and a violent past which will not stay buried. When a mysterious stranger knocks on his door, Lee is suddenly confronted with the choices he made long ago. He must now decide how far he is willing to go to seek redemption. The Path of the Wind is a compelling story of love, vengeance, and forgiveness, and the powers we choose to let guide us. Approx. 103 minutes.

Overall my wife and I enjoyed this movie. It is well done with a strong message and even presentation of the Gospel message.
However, despite it's "no sex before marriage" message, the Christian in the movie is a pretty bad example to Believers and young people especially. Without ruining the plot, the Christian woman in the movie seems to do everything except the very act of sex, and then her conscience seems to kick in when it went too far.
No emphasis on purity of any kind.
The unbeliever guy in the movie is a better example than she is. Otherwise nice movie with some action, surprises and a good overall message but could have been a lot better in showing real purity and how a Christian should approach relationships.

I was disappointed in the quality of this movie. The acting was not good. I think they could have done a better job of getting their message across. The ending was not well developed which to me hindered the message they were trying to get across. I wish I had rented it first before buying.

Unfortunately, I felt that the purpose of the film was lost through the in-depth detail surrounding the sex before marriage issue. As a family based film, the message could have been dealt with without such blatant detail. The film was supposed to be about forgiveness not about his need/desire for sex.

Intriguing plot for sure, but a somewhat awkward finale. Some scenes seemed professional, some seemed amateurish. I liked the "messiness" of the plot, though hopefully some of the very foolish decisions made by even the lead Christian in the movie will not be misinterpreted by viewers as "permission" to try the same unbiblical practices. I guess the bottom line would be: in a broken world people will do stupid things--Christians included--and there is both God's grace but also consequences. I remarked to my teen daughter as we watched, "Now when a guy says this to you, you don't do what this gal does, right?"

I loved this movie. The opportunity of forgiveness and redemption is very moving. I could not imagine coming out of prison and expecting to find forgiveness and trust by anyone. This movie shows that this is possible and it is real. It also shows the sacrifice that sometimes has to be made to redeem that forgiveness and trust.
