Baker Books Surrendered and Untamed: A Field Guide for the Vagabond Believer

What would you do with your life if you were really, truly free? Would you take greater risks in order to reap greater rewards? Would you chase down your dreams?

The way to this true freedom is through complete surrender to God. It may seem counterintuitive, but then God doesn't always work the way we would. God created you with a unique purpose and promise that only you can fulfill. But you're not going to discover that purpose if you don't take a risk and accept the invitation to follow God on the great adventure of faith.

I was looking for a video series to show in a teen Sunday school class (under 15 years) and landed on this one because of the price. The video itself was very interesting and thought provoking and the accompanying students guide was helpful as it had some really good questions and discussion guides. It would have worked better with an older crowd but the journey of Alex in the south pole was very compelling and thought provoking. I would use it again easily. I read the entire accompanying book written by Jason Clark which had some good thoughts in it but felt somewhat disconnected from the video material. Jason used a lot of personal stories that were good, the most compelling being his own struggle to trust God with his finances, but there were places in the book where it felt like he was being more egocentric than self disclosing. In the end I felt that reading the book was not necessary to doing the video series.

Stories about the life of Jason Clark and how letting go and giving control to the Lord that gave His life for us is the only way to live in this world. I laughed out loud and really enjoyed this book. An easy read that anyone can relate to.
