Baker Books Putting Amazing Back into Grace, Revised and Updated Edition

Putting Amazing Back into Grace: Embracing the Heart of the Gospel asks What does it mean to be "saved by grace"? Revised and updated, this classic by leading theologian Michael Horton reminds readers of the Reformation's radical view of God and his saving grace and the liberating yet humbling truth that we contribute nothing to our salvation.

Horton lays out the scriptural basis for the doctrione of "salvation by grcae alone" and its implications for a vibrant evangelical faith. Horton's accessible treatment will inspire readers with a fresh amazement at God's grace a message much needed in today's world.

Very few books stand the test of time and even fewer last twenty years and then go through a revision and update. Putting Amazing Back into Grace is a book that has been read and studied by many people throughout the years. I first read this book back in high school and it helped me at that time to think through what I believe about Reformed theology. Reading this book again helped reinforced what I believed about Reformed theology.
This book reminds its readers of the Reformational view of God, his saving grace, the liberating yet humbling truth that Christians contribute nothing to their salvation. Dr. Horton in this book lays out the biblical basis for this doctrine and its implications for a vibrant evangelical faith. This book also comes with two brand new companion DVDS that make this perfect for small group or individual study. The DVDS have four hours of video with twenty minutes for each chapter.
Putting Amazing Back into Grace is very well written and easy to read book. Even on the parts where I disagreed with Dr. Horton for example on his view on baptism and the ends times, Dr. Horton presents good arguments for infant baptism and the end times. Putting Amazing Back into Grace will help its readers to gaze upon the triumph of God’s almighty grace. I recommend reading Putting Amazing Back into Grace as it an accessible and easy to read book that is grounded in the Word of God and the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
