Exodus [NIVAC] written by Pete Enns, a highly original and sometimes provocative thinker draws on the immense uncertainty faced by the Israelites as the left their captive Egypt and translates their context into a rich wealth for dealing with uncertainties in our world. Of course with uncertainties, the need to trust God and follow his lead becomes greater and Enns continually draws out these themes in connected fashion.

Enns writes well with the pastor and teacher in mind. He manages to address the ancient context as well as modern application, in the same work. This is a strong contribution to the NIV Application Commentary series, and is one of the stronger Commentaries on Exodus available today.

Enns has provided us with a fine book which is stimulating and practical. I would recommend this as a great addition to your library. The major points are majored on and the minor points minored on. His treatment of the tabernacle is concise but well covered. I'm enjoying this commentary the more I look thru it.
