Baker Academic Mark: Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament [BECNT]

Renowned Synoptics scholar Stein offers a substantive, accessible addition to the critically acclaimed BECNT. Focusing on the Markan understanding of the Jesus traditions, the author examines the immediate and larger context of each section of the Gospel; offers verse-by-verse commentary based on detailed interaction with the Greek text; and explores what Mark is seeking to teach.

Robert Stein's Mark Commentary is a scholarly well-researched and easy to read commentary on the second book of the New Testament. Stein's hermeneurics is quite evident throughout his readings and analysis of the book of Mark. The book is informed by years of study and scholarship which are derived from the disciplined study of this fine scholar. As many of previous works by Robert Stein, this one is one that lay readers, students, and scholars alike will come to appreciate as one of the best textual readings and exegesis on the Word of God for our times. Reading this commentary will not only be educational; but, will also prove to be amusing. Stein is one of those fine scholars who can both do a fine job in interpreting texts of the New Testament, and yet make it quite enjoyable a study for the reader. Best Wishes,
