Years ago I had read and loved A Shepherd Looks at the 23rd Psalm so when I saw this 3 in 1 book, I thought this was something I had to check out. I bought one for myself and one for a friend in TX. While I did not enjoy the other two books as much as I did the first one, I DID like them. There were tings I learned from them I had not realized before, but not as much as from the first book. I think this was because it was a direct look at the scripture itself. However, I would still recommend this book because it IS a good value and DOES provide insights FROM a shepherd OF a shepherd - OUR shepherd and His word. You cannot find that anywhere else that I know, and I appreciated the things I learned. It gave me a deeper appreciation of God's word and my Lord.

This is an exceptional book. As a shepherd, Phillip has a view of the Biblical passages that are so full of insights and new learning. It has deepened my walk with the Good Shepherd. I go back and reread chapters to glean more truths. I highly recommend it. I have bought several extra copies to loan to friends.

I'm on the third book in the trilogy and have found the unique insights and perspectives offered by Phillip Keller eye opening. I'm using it as a daily devotional and find myself being refreshed and even calmed during some very troubling things going on. Especially in the first book you will find some convicting comparisons about how we really do act like sheep! Overall, the key of the book is that it is always pointing you to the true Shepherd.

I have loved phillip keller's writing for many years..he writes from his agriculteral background..and I can relate to this, as a farmer's daughter and a former wife of a farmer...he writes of the Father's love for us, his wayward, often difficult 'sheep'.. He loves us so much..a simple yet a deeply profound collection of 3 of his best books.
