Questar Video Armageddon, DVD

Is the world coming to an end? When will it end - and how? These questions have been asked for hundreds of years, and inspired some to try to ascertain exact answers when the Bible does not specifically address them. This documentary takes mostly Roman Catholic sources of extra-biblical prophecy along with prophetic elements from other traditions to blend a vision of the future that may be bleak to some but to others may have much to offer.

This video attempts to support its premise of an impending worldwide doom, and one coming sooner rather than later, by delving into occult foretelling (some Roman Catholic - such as Malachy and Nostradamus; some non-Christian - such as Edgar Cayce, Egyptian pyramids) and spiritual apparitions (such as Fatima) warning of future calamity. Superimposing these human attempts at divining eschatological secrets over divine biblical prophecy, the producers try to read current events into Scripture rather than exegete the Bible properly. The result is a good example of bad hermeneutics informing a foregone conclusion. This production could only be useful in helping to illustrate, in a cautionary manner, the dangers of eisegesis.
