Estranged sisters Sarah and Wanda wrangle over the family pecan grove. But an old woman living on the property claims it as hers. I have always enjoyed all the actors who starred in this movie. It was a good movie. Sad but very very good. It just showed how some family members can be taken with greed and not think of others but themselves. I really liked how the family came together in the end and how the older lady was able to get to see her son before she died. And the son was able to see that his mother had not abandoned him. He was able to come to terms and forgive her for thinking that of her. Della Reese was great in this part as was Merdith Baxter and Patricia Heaton and also Anna Chulmsky.

My husband and I thought that it was very good. We are so glad that it showed the real feelings of some and what fear and unforgiving can do to a person's compassion and human nature. The ending was excellent when her son met his mother and the sisters forgave each other.Excellent - 5 stars, for sure.

This movie falls under the category of 'chick flick', but if you like family-oriented movies, then you'll enjoy this one whether you are a man or a woman. This is a wonderfully-done tale of reconciliation and forgiveness within two different families. Yes, the ending is overly predictable, but that's okay because getting there is so rich and rewarding. The only thing that I didn't like about the movie was the horribly fake Southern accents that Meredith Baxter and Patricia Heaton used. It's too bad that most people probably think of these two actresses as their TV-show characters Elise Keaton and Deborah Barone - those phony accents will likely make you cringe at first if you're familiar with these two characters they played. I got past this little flaw quickly though, and I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. An added plus is the fact that it has zero sex or profanity (in spite of the antagonism between some of the characters - see, Hollywood, it can be done!!).
