StefNashua, NHAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5A fantastic help for Students, Leaders, or for self study of of wonderful Faith!November 30, 2022StefNashua, NHAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is one extremely helpful, and especially useful for students at Christians colleges or those taking classes on the Christian faith. I used it while taking classes at a small Christian college, and continue to use it to help when leading a home group or Sunday School class and I need a quick reference in selecting passages on just aboyt every belief and teaching of the church!
A wonderful little book that has saved me hours of trying to find the right passage on various topics. -
oldmanchubbAge: 25-34Gender: male2 Stars Out Of 5There Are Better Resources Out ThereSeptember 11, 2012oldmanchubbAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 2Meets Expectations: 3The back of this book gives the reason for this publication, that it is "intended to assist the theological student who might not take the time to look up the verses cited in systematic theologies, but it will also be useful to anyone seeking to better understand the major themes of Scripture". That is all well and good and this book on some level accomplishes this, but at the same time, there are much better resources out there.
For one, if you're doing research on something like the providence of God, you're going to want to spend a little bit of time in a good systematic theology anyway. Plus, any worthwhile study bible will have a section on such topics and I would assume the target audience of this book would have something like that. And I hate to say it, but in this day and age, a simple Internet search will yield the same list of verses that this book provides. So this is not a terrible book in that it does helpfully outline Biblical passages about theological beliefs, but there are plenty of other sources that also do this and even more.
