Customer Reviews for Concordia Publishing House Revelation

Concordia Publishing House Revelation

This volume on Revelation in the Concordia Commentary Series explores the last and perhaps the most perplexing book in the Bible as the church's final witness to the exalted Christ. The author sees Ascension Christology as the heart of the prophetic and visionary message and relates the imagery, events, and liturgical portions of Revelation to the church's life and worship.

The Concordia Commentray series will cover all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments, interpreting Scripture as a harmonious unity centered in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Every passage bears witness to the Good News that God has reconciled the world to Himself through our Lord's life, death, and resurrection. This series fully affirms the divine inspiration, inerrancy, and authority of Scripture as it emphasizes "that which promotes Christ" in each pericope.

Outstanding! A serious resource for Pastors and Bible scholars looking for NONfiction about the end times.Having taken the author's class on Revelation I admire his utter familiarity with the text--he has studied it for fifty years!Brighton shows the beautiful way that John's Apocalypse pulls together both Testaments of Scripture and shows their fulfillment in the glorified Christ.Brighton doesn't try to be controversial or flashy. But he wrings out of Revelation so much encouragement for the Church in these challenging, yet spiritual, times.Soli Deo Gloria!
