NAV Press A Mile from Sunday, The Light Foot Trilogy Series #1

Religion reporter for The Denver Dispatch, Jonna Lightfoot McLaughlin is the daughter of spiritually experimental hippies---so she's seen just about everything out there. Then she receives an anonymous tip about a church that's stealing lives instead of saving them. Could this be the story she's been waiting for---or the end of her career?

I enjoy all kinds of fictin & non-fiction across the extreme time line of the ages. I have not finished reading the 3rd book and am not sure the author ever gets her theology straight. As a stand alone book it has weak Bibical accuracy w/ God's character and requirements. Easily one can pick up any of the three and read them out of order and still enjoy them.

I did NOT like this book, I am a Christian and believe that there one way for salvation, to God, through Jesus Christ, his son. I read the first book, "a mile from Sunday" and started the second book. I feel "uncomfortable" about some of the information in the them. I will not be reading any more of them and will not share them with friends and family. The books do NOT make it clear that there is only One Way. You may want to research the books since you are offering them for purchase at Christianbook.com.Thank you for reading my note. May God Bless you . Leigh

In A Mile From Sunday Jonna Lightfoot McLaughlin is searching for love, just the right hair product and the story that will skyrocket her journalistic career. As the Denver Dispatch's one and only religion reporter, Jonna has a bird's eye view of the faithful whether in a church, synagogue, temple or commune together with their representatives, pastors, monks, priests, rabbis, all with their own story to tell. After enduring a smorgasbord approach to spiritual beliefs during her childhood instigated by her eclectic hippie loving parents, those same parents met Jesus, introduced Jonna and her brothers to Him, changing their lives forever. Jonna's faith and her childhood experiences gave her a compassion and understanding of people's search for truth which she faithfully turned into articles popular with the Denver community. When Jonna's investigative nose sniffs out a sinister plot under the guise of faith, a Buddhist temple burns down and "God" starts messaging her, Jonna embarks on a search for truth and justice.Jo Kadlecek has created a genuinely fascinating yet non-traditional Christian character in Jonna Lightfoot weaving an intriguing story and providing an inside look into the many faiths in our world today. Jo does not shy away from portraying Jonna with human frailties and an intelligence that sees her pondering the realities of life and faith, asking the questions we are often afraid to voice. Although not all will agree, it is Jonna's imperfections that endear her to the reader. Journeying with Jonna in the sequel, A Quarter After Tuesday , will no doubt be an engaging and rewarding experience.

I did like this book but thought the references to ale and smoking could have been left out. They didn't add anything to the story in my opinion but I still liked the story and will look for the next one.

Jonna Lightfoot McLaughlin is a heroine for todays Christian reader. Shes smart, ambitious, loyal, loves a pint of ale after work and smokes. Although, she is trying to quit. As the citys number one religion reporter, Jonna is looking for a good front page story and falls into a trap of fraud and danger. In, A Mile From Sunday, Jo Kadlecek has finally given us a heroine we can relate to. One that is not perfect, a bit of a slob, looking for her love-match, and striving for a better relationship with God. This book is a must read for readers of any genre. Cynthia Hickey, author

I didn't like this book. The author tried to make too many points through out the story. The main character rambled and never became someone I cared about!!!
