NavPress The Message: The Gospel of John

"I came so that they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." Sound appealing? The book you are holding in your hands can help you to experience the power of truth--of life--in an indescribable, unbelievable new way.

Read what John witnessed as he walked alongside Jesus, the man who has had the greatest impact of all time upon our world--a man whose message of raw truth, pure love, and clear purpose just might radically change your life.

Eugene Peterson's modern paraphrase, The Message: The Gospel of John, brings John's message of transforming hope and life directly to you, in today's language. Experience God's message. Find hope. Be changed.

my son has a very difficult time with reading... and at 14, he is way too cool and grown up for a 'Kids Bible'-- but The Message is simple everyday language that he can easily read and understand... his school uses a KJV and his memorization is from that text, but sometimes he doesn't understand what he has memorized... with The Message, he 'gets' it readily... Bible reading is easier and can even be pleasant for him instead of just another chore to check off his homework list...

"Wow, this makes reading the Bible really interesting!" "I can understand it." are some typical comments from the kids who start reading this modern paraphrase. I have no hesitation in handing it out to them for fear that they will just lay it aside, saying they can't understand the language! It even gives me fresh revelation of how God's Message applies to my life!

I found "The Message" Gospel of John an insightful paraphrase and a great companion to my daily reading of the Word. I enjoy reading it along with my KJV. The Testament size has a good format, easy to read, for the non-believer as well as the seasoned saint, and a great resource for outreach or evangelism. The price is also great. I bought some extras to share with others. Max Lucado's afterward is a great touch. I would encourage anyone who is interested in "The Message" translation to get this first.
