NavPress Between Two Worlds

Practicing Catholic Timmis appeared to have it all---but beneath the surface his world was falling apart. Then he welcomed Christ into his life at a Campus Crusade event! Here the chairman of Prison Fellowship shares the two different expressions of his personal faith; and explores how evangelicalism and Catholicism can be reconciled and work together. 288 pages, softcover from NavPress.

Mike Timmis has shared his life's challenges in an honest and forthright manner. It was refreshing that he admitted his own sins but offered realistic approaches to overcome the temptations that beset most men. It was especially meaningful that Mike was able to clearly explain that the person of Jesus, and only Jesus, holds the power to bridge the gap between Protestant and Catholics as well as other religions and cultures around the world. As doors were miraculously open with high level foreign leaders and officials, demonstrating their hunger for the Truth of Jesus, this has been testimony to Mike's faith and dependence on the power of the Holy Spirit. Mike simply took Jesus at his word. His autobiography was especially meaningful to me personally in that I also lost my only daughter through tragedy. I could feel Mike's pain as only those who have lost children can. Again, Jesus is the answer as Mike so aptly testifies. I plan to share his book with other friends in my fellowship group. ~ Hank Prevette
