The church I used to attend had an amazing ministry based on these books. Many women (and men!) have been able to use them to face their painful past and allow God to heal their hearts. I am one of those women. Another reviewer expressed fear that the books might hurt more than help. It did hurt to work through these books, but the benefit far outweighed the pain in the end. If childhood sexual abuse is part of your story, I highly recommend working through The Wounded Heart books. And FYI: Follow the order of the workbook, not the main book.

I can't express how disappointed I am by these books. I bought them for a loved one, but thought I should look over them first. I'm glad I did. I can only imagine that these books would hurt, and not heal. The author (and the people who wrote forwards and such) use a lot of words without actually saying anything helpful. My loved one is dearer to me than all the world, and I could never give such a book to someone so close to my heart.
