I was very pleased by this book. Though, as others have said, a very comprehensive read, it was well executed. I think that the contributors did a wonderful job not only sharing the features of the Emergent Church, but also of their personal faith stories. I was please, have recommended to others, and look forward to reading other resources by these aptly chosen contributors.

This was one of the books I got with my mystery selection. First off, why would Christianbook.com think I would like this book? Do they not see the type of books I buy from you? I don't want this emergent church crap.

I can only get through one chapter at a time in this book. It is good to read if you are solid in your faith and wish to know what the people of the emergent church movement believe. If you are a new or weak Christian, do not read this heresy. It is very unbiblical.

For those who think that the emergent movement is harmless and really for those who seek God, but are not or could not be called Christians, this book will enlighten you.

I'm sloughing my way through this "textbook" style of writing - only because I've heard of "the emergent church" in passing in my reading and because an "ex-pastor" is included and I wanted to see what he had to say about the subject. Not an easy read.
