Those who have been emotionally wounded need our support and compassion. But sometimes those who help the wounded could use a little more information about the problems the hurting among us carry. The Quick-Reference Guide to Biblical Counseling is an A-Z guide that provides pastors, professional counselors, youth workers, and everyday believers with access to a full array of information to assist with (formal and informal) counseling situations. Issues addressed include addictions, forgiveness, sexual abuse, suicide, self-esteem and many others.
Each of the 40 topics covered follows a helpful eight-part outline and identifies typical symptoms and patterns, definitions, action steps, questions to ask and offers additional recommended resources.

The general question can be very helpful, especially to beginning counselors. The key characteristics given will also help them with diagnoses. The book did however short a lot of information on some topics such as divorce which only deals with the adults and not the children.

Just got this in today as it was back ordered. This is a great reference that every counselor will want to keep handy. It'll go on the short, handy self for daily use in my ministry, right alongside my Bible, 'Pearls - Scriptures to Live By' and Quick Scripture Reference for Counseling.
