Baker Books Rooted in Good Soil: Cultivating and Sustaining Authentic Discipleship

Just like a fruitful tree, authentic faith is the result of careful tending, the passage of time, and good growing conditions. According to Jesus's parable of the sower, true belief takes root in good soil. But how is this truth translated into changed lives? Pastor and farmer Tri Robinson invites you to cultivate a deep and lasting faith through this insightful exploration of Jesus's parable. In a culture that seems enamored with quick fixes and superficial amusements, Rooted in Good Soil will show you a more intentional and fulfilling way to live.

“Rooted in Good Soil,” an indepth look at the parable of the sower (Matthew 13-1-23), discusses Tri Robinson’s conversion, spiritual growth and life choices using examples from his work as a farmer, teacher and pastor. Organized by an element of farming corresponding to a particular discipleship issue, each chapter holds perfectly timed illustrations from his personal experiences highlighted by how God orchestrates each part of our life just as He defined how a seed would be nurtured and grown into a mature plant. Robinson’s journey will inspire you to seek after God and find His purpose for your life.
Our spiritual life begins with a seed and, if nurtured properly, will bloom into maturity as we allow God to take us from confession and repentance to transformation and fruit-bearing. It takes the course of a lifetime for God to produce spiritual maturity in us. It is our responsibility to cultivate an environment where we can continuously grow.
His reflections will help you visualize what God is doing in your life and how you should respond to His calling. You are not insignificant in God’s eyes and He will provide for you. Robinson encourages, challenges and inspires you. He will make you think about your own story as it relates to your spiritual growth.
