Dr. Morris studied the Word of God, and taught it, and defended it for about 80 years. He has taught through Genesis more than 7 times. He has also lectured on it and its subjects many times. He has answered an untold number of inquiries from people in all walks of life with all kinds of education and experiences. He has studied it in relation with his personal walk, the sciences, apologetics, and of course theology.

Today there are far too many who are all too ready to compromise on the inerrancy of God's Word. Dr. Morris is not one of them. He was actively involved in debating those who contended with the accuracy of the Bible especially in the areas where the Bible touches upon the sciences. He reasoned not just with those within the church, but also with those without. He debated them and to my knowledge never lost a debate. He and his friend Dr. Duane Gish author of The Fossils Say No!) debated evolutionists all over the country. They never lost and finally the evolutionists gave up and just avoided debating them.

Morris' works are very readable and they do not avoid difficult questions and challenges. In my younger collegiate days Dr. Morris and Dr. Duane Gish were instrumental in answering my questions about the Bible and the sciences.

You can sense his love of God, our Creator and Savior, and His Word as he comments on the verses and passages and words.

Morris is the first resource I seek out after the Bible, not just in Genesis either. His commentary on Revelation, The Revelation Record, is another excellent commentary. I prefer his Study Bible notes (The Defender's Study Bible, which has been renamed after his homecoming to The Henry Morris Study Bible) above all the other Study Bibles I have (The Word for Today, Ryrie, ESV, Complete Word Study, Life Application, Faithful Life, Apologetics, New Pilgrim, Thompson Chain, New Scofield, Believer's, NIV, Archaeology, Woman's, et. al.). I always seem to come back to Morris' Study Bible notes.

Morris has been a very positive influence on my study and life.

I cannot recommend his works more highly.

Along with the other resources available fromCRI , The Genesis Record , correctly balances proper biblical exegesis, with a profound respect for the validity of scripture. No flights of fancy, but a verse by verse explanations of the wonder of Gods' creation. I recommend this book highly to all who would seek to understand the book of beginnings. It opens the gateway into our origins, that is sadly not taught in our schools or churches anymore. Like an elderly aunt that no one wants to visit, our religious institutions & preachers have avoided the book of Genesis. Dr. Morris brings it out of the closet & shows what a wonderful wealth of information & scientific valid descriptions of our worlds beginnings are available to all who seek.Along with other resources available fromCRI, we who believe in a literal 7 day creation as taught in scripture & affirmed by Jesus, now have the resources available to back up the cliams of scripture.

The book itself is a classic in its field, a logical and scientific treatment of biblical writings. This particular edition is a good size for easy reading. Arrival was timely.

The Genesis Record was the first book I read by Dr. Henry Morris. I found it inspirational and informative. A must-read for anyone wanting to learn more about the Old Testament.
