This book really helped my marriage

I had tried many marriage books, but this book really helped me to see how much anger I was bringing to our marriage. I fit the vacillator profile. Seeing how I was contributing to problems helped me to have more patience and advocate for myself in a more productive way. I can't say everything is perfect yet: I've got a lot to work on, but things are much calmer as I've been able to recognize how much of the turmoil came from within me.

A wonderful, insighful book. Great for someone to see how their childhood affects how they relate to their spouse or friends/co-workers. Great question/quiz section as well as pracitcal workbook to help improve weak or difficult areas in your relationships. Highly recommend to all who seek to improve communication skills in any relationship or just to understand themselves better.

An EXCELLENT book -- the best I have ever read on marriage and family relationships. I can relate to everything covered. I've purchased two as gifts and will probably purchase two more.

They are writing directly from their lives to ours and the Lord has given them a lot of light. I have to stop and cry or think many times but their counsel may be saving me hours and money in therapy.

How We Love series has transformed our marriage. We have ordered over a dozen books so far to use in our home group and to give to friends and relatives. While driving in the car, we listen to the CD's, and we use the DVD series for our group. It's the best book we have used since Boundaries. There is a workbook in the last section of the book that is invaluable in assessing our lives and learning how to love others.

This book was very helpful to me. I took the on line test http://www.howwelove.com/index.html~ in the upper right hand corner of the page, and I realized that how we were reared by our parents plays such an important role in how we interpret what our spouse says and how we respond to him. I had a very abusive past and I really thought I dealt with it. Actually, all I did was bury it, once I got it out in the open and released it, I felt much lighter and so much better about myself. I was now able to tackle my marriage. I highly recommend this book!

Lets just say , my jaw spent alot of time hanging from my face , I couldnt believe how dead on it was about me . Finally answers for all of the questions I had regarding myself . I can be on my way in the recovery process . Vacillator - Avoider comb is the issue at hand in my marriage situation . I was just so impressed with this book and will recommend to anyone having issues in their marriage !

What an eye opener! Easy to read and understand. Although my husband and I are still working through the workbook (included in the back of the book), we have both started on the road to healing ourselves and our marriage. This is a must read for every marriage.
