I was looking at purchasing the DVD vs. watching it online, and ended up at the Hiding Place Museum website, where they mentioned that this DVD had extras and so I decided on purchasing for that reason. (I'm not sure if the Museum gets a percentage when you purchase this way, but it might be worth a try.)
There are 2 DVDs inside, and on the extra one, I valued seeing more of Corrie in real life, including:
1. A film of Corrie visiting the set of the Hiding Place film, interacting with the creation of the film, and seeming to give her blessing on the actors and the story being true to her experience.
2. A section called "Corrie's biography" that includes a film made by Corrie for prisoners, sharing her own experiences and how they brought her closer to God.
3. "Corrie's bio" also has a story of her life, with the actress who played her explaining some of her life, showing her home in the US. She also has films of Corrie telling a little of her experiences in the past, showing some of her experience getting a pacemaker and things about the end of her life, plus a lot of Corrie's very practical life illustrations of her faith.
4. "Corrie's bio" also has a film celebrating Corrie, where the MC brought various people in her life onto the stage. It was a big rush to fit so much into an hour, but very nice to see a few of the real people in her life back then and now, and to see the impact Corrie has had on so many (and a funny story about the ten Booms).

Loved it! I read the book years ago and enjoyed it; however, the movie brings it to life. Knowing that Corrie ten Boom shared the story herself gave it authenticity. My husband enjoyed it, too. Unfortunately, people have already forgotten about the terror the Jews endured; this true-life story is not only educational, but a great reminder of what actually happened and it can not be disputed.

Great movie. Watched it with my Sunday School class pf 5th and 6th graders. Very thought provoking for discussion of what the cost is, can be, to follow Christ

When a friend was visiting in my home, he picked up the book, The Hiding Place, and commented that he and his Mother read it together when he was 10. We let him take the book home with him, then ordered the DVD to send to him for Christmas. He was overjoyed with this gift, and I knew once again that gift shopping at Christianbook is indeed a wise thing to do!

I have read the book "The Hiding Place" many times and was so excited to find a DVD on it. It was truly a wonderful and faith filled story. After watching it, I have passed it along so all of my friends could share this courageous story of Corrie and her family.

This is a very well produced and directed film. The story line follows closely to the biography of Corrie Ten Boom. A true story of a real relationship with God. Very inspiring.

I grew up knowing all about Corrie Ten Boom and everything her family endured and her extraordinary testimony and leadership, however I had never read her book or seen the movie "The Hiding Place."
This movie had such an inpact on me that many times I cried and it definately left me with a renewed sense of faith and gratitude in our Lord. I highly recommend this if for no other reason then to reinvigorate your walk with Jesus!

This is reality tv. It may have happened over 60 years ago but history tends to repeat itself. The Ten Boom Family went from everyday life to putting their lives in danger, to unthinkable horrors and to survive and allow God to use such a catastrophic nightmare to reach lost souls and to forgive the inhumane cruelty that was inflicted on so many innocent people is the miraculous work of God. Let it encourge you.

Watching this movie was a humbling experience for me. It shows that nothing is more powerful than the Love of God...greater than any army, than any enemy, than any pain, than any hurt, and how nothing is impossible with God, even one of the seemenly hardest to do, forgiving. And with that love they were able to help others in need, including the ones imprisioned. And loving their enemies by forgiving them. It truly inspired me and exhorted me. Corrie even said while she was imprisioned, that hatred can put you in a worse prison than she was in. Showing how love gives, through any circumstance, it keeps giving, without expecting anything in return. And we can only find that love in Christ, and we can only love like Him through Him. To think that I'd called the little stuff that I've gone through persecution, this was an eye opener and reminded me to be grateful for being so blessed and privilidged to serve Him.

This is one of the best movies I've ever seen. Everyone who calls themselves Christian should watch it. It follows the book very closely and as as special treat, Corrie Ten Boom makes a cameo appearance at the end of the film.

Excellent movie. I've read many books about the holocaust recently, including Anne Frank's diary. There was so much pain and torment going on all over Europe...it's difficult to fathom. But I think it's important for us to know and remember...and be willing to help people, even at great personal sacrifice as Corrie and her family did. They are a truly inspiring family...not because they chose to be, but because they chose to listen to God and be obedient. We can all do that. (I appreciated getting to meet the real Corrie during the filming. She was an amazing lady).

some may find this movie hard to watch as there is a lot of violence in it but it is real as I have read this ladies book before and she endured so much but never once gave up her faith in God.We must look at her as a great heritage to us and never forget her. Praise God for her life and she will now be enjoying her life with Him!!!

For those who truly love the Lord, love His Chosen People the Jews, and know that Israel is the Key to Prophecy, this would be a superb choice. It depicts the true story of Corrie Ten Boom during the years of the Holocaust and World War II, imprisoned in a German death camp for protecting Jewish escapees. Because our granddaughter, age 14, wants to be missionary, we thought this DVD would be an excellent choice to give her for Christmas! It contains valuable history for everyone.

Very well done and put together. If you are looking for a movie to show the reality of how God cares more about our character than our comfort -- this is the one. The encouragement of characters with strong faith and how they made it through the toughest times and through it all God had a plan for Corrie to share with the world how he cares for us on a daily basis. The scriptures are strengthened to show how we are even to give thanks for ugly and awful things not because they harm us or give us inconvenience but because it can be used for the furthering of His kingdom such as in this case because of the nasty fleas the guards would not come into the barracks and the christians had opportunities to share the love of the Lord and read from the word of GOD. Amazing testimony for the LORD.
