This book was given to my children almost 20 years ago as a present from an aunt and uncle. The book is beautifully illustrated to capture children of all ages' attention. It teaches each of us to treasure who God made us to be and to also treasure those around us. I have bought many of these books over the years to give as presents. I recently gave the book to teacher friends who teach special needs children. Meanwhile, the local public school merit class used this for a study in discovering and appreciating diversity. The animals used to discover our character are precious. Thank you CBD for making it available since 1992 when it was first published.

We got this book at a conference at our church as John Trent was guest speaker at a marriage event. We had no idea how this book would change our lives! My first born son is defintely a Lion, and my second born son an otter!
We noticed early on that they would play fine together and then once the giggiling began, watch out! Screams would follow, we never understood why my first son would be having such a good time only to become irritated to the point of harming his brother! Only" after" reading this book did the "light bulb go off!"
Think of what would happen if a lion and an otter began to play together, the lion would be amused at first of the silly otter's playfulness only to then pop him with a paw, and end the play. We are so grateful to John Trent for writing this book, and helping parent's to have a tool to read to their children, that all children are valued and each personality has it strength! The illustrations are beautiful and the size of the pages large enough to read at bedtime, as we show the pictures to our kids as they listen. Very humorious stories that keep their interest. This will be a classic to share for years to come!!if you have more than one child, or grandchildren this book is a must!!

We love this book! I teach kindergarteners, and I and the other teachers read it to our students near the end of the year (when we know them better). We decide which personality each child has and give them awards for that one, along with their other certificates. It is amazing, based upon this story, how well the children can recognize themselves and their classmates--even at the age of 5-6 years old!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who has not read it. I found the sequel to this book if anybody is interested. It is called "The Two Trails." It features all of the furry friends from the first book, but on a new adventure. You can go here to get more information http://www.thomasnelson.com/consumer/product_detail.asp?sku=0849914507.

One of my favorite childrens books! I read it to my students each year. I teach kindergarten Sunday school & AWANA (K-2nd). The children love this book. We can't read the whole book in one setting, so the children are so excited to come back the next week to hear the conculsion to the story.

One of the best guides to knowing and appreciating personality types -- both in children and adults. Not only is the story amazing but the illustrations are absolutely fantastic. I just gave a copy to a teenage girl I'm mentoring -- and she loved it and plans to use the material with friends.

This is an amazing story. I have read this book to my students for the last 8 years. My fourth graders and third graders have loved this book. The lessons learned from this book are life lessons. It teaches my students that working together in the classroom is vital to our group success. This past year, one of my students asked me if we "were ever going to read another book as good as The Treasure Tree." The children hang on every word in each chapter. They begin to find themselves in the characters as well as learn to identify the strengths of their friends. I am preparing for the start of a new school year in just a couple of weeks and already know that this will be the first book for my new third graders. This book is a treasure.

This is the greatest book. We have used it in our family and in Family Ministry workshops with adults and kids and they have learned to love, accept and honor and bless each other because of the great truths presented in a classic literary story! Wonderful illustrations too. My grandson loves it too.

We just started this book with our 4 year old daughter. She is enjoying the book chapter by chapter and anxiously awaits for the next to be read to her. It is written in a kind way to show how each of the personalities helps with their own way of finding the golden keys. I highly recommend this book.
