Baker Creation and Blessing: A Guide to the Study and Exposition of Genesis

According to the author, his purpose is to "help the reader appreciate the major literary and theological motifs that form the theological ideas in the narratives, and to demonstrate how these theological ideas can be developed into clear and accurate expository ideas." To accomplish this goal, he divides Genesis into more than sixty units, discussing each unit's theological ideas and describing its structure.

The very best homelitic commentary on Genesis I have ever come across. It not only providesan excellent exegetical outline, it also suggests homeletic direction. If you are a pastor hoping to bring the richness of Genesis to life for your congregation, it doesn't get any better than this!

An outstanding commentary for pastors and teachers. Ross's approach to Genesis is lucid and readable without skimping on content. Ross presents both the particular cultural and historical context of Genesis and its theology without ever losing sight of its unity. Creation and Blessing is a "must have" for the Biblical student's library.
