I read the first couple of chapters online, and then bought the book for my younger sister. She absolutely loved it and has been recounting parts of it ever since. She lent it to her older sister, who lent it to my other older sister, who's going to lend it to two other friends!
The message is excellent and couldn't come at a better time: wake up! Seek God.
The literary apparatus of contrasting the the wild woman and the wise woman is done with much though; the author makes it a fun, quick read, packed with truth and conviction.
Highly recommend.

Girls Gone Wise in a World Gone Wild

When the publisher of this book suggested I read and review this book because it would be perfect content for my blog, which is geared toward young women and teens, I jumped at the opportunity.
And I, as well, figured that it would be perfect for my audience of readers. We were both right, it is a perfect example of the message I'm am trying to get out to the young women of today.
Girls Gone Wise is a "must read" for every woman, young or old, on the planet. That may sound a little extreme, but once you've read it for yourself, you will understand my thinking behind that statement.
Mary Kassain delivers a strong message of the importance of making wise choices when it comes to our roles as a women. She spells out the negative consequences that wild choices, as well as, wild behavior, will bring us if we choose to live our lives in such a manner.
She points out that many women, and even teens, have been duped into believing that immodest dress and behavior are the norm for today's woman, and should be adhered to. And by following these societal guidelines, a woman will some how be rewarded. When in reality the opposite is true. And some women have completely lost their bearings as to which direction to go, in terms of portraying herself to the world and to the opposite sex.
With much biblical accuracy, she clearly contrasts the wise women of the bible from Proverbs 31, with the wild women of the bible from Proverbs 7. In hopes to guide and bring understanding to women, of all ages, concerning their discernment of what is good, and acceptable, and noble, not only to the Lord, but for personal reasons as well. For there are many rewards for good and righteous conduct.
She challenges women to examine themselves in a realistic manner using the bible and the Lord's teachings as a guide. She persuades them to look at their own behaviors, attitudes, appearance, speech and more. To consider their heart in the light of the scripture.
I loved this book, and I highly recommend it to your daughters, nieces, sisters, grand-daughters and friends. Personally, I am giving it to my daughter for Christmas. This is a well overdue subject and I am so glad it has finally been brought up.

I can't express how essential this book is for every woman's library. In a world where women have become so desensitized to sin and destructive to themselves and others in their behaivor, this book is straight to the point and very well written! If it were possible to get this book in every woman's hands that walk this Earth myself, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Buy this book- it's phenominal!

I was excited when our girls' youth began a book study, but when they chose this book for the age range of 12-17 year olds, I was disappointed. I think the book itself has a target audience identity crisis. Is it for women or girls? From the first chapter, we learn about all sorts of sexual sins and situations that many young teens might not have even heard of--or want to. This is definitely a pre-read for teens and you'll have to decide if your daughter has had the kind of worldly experiences and exposure to warrant discussion on these topics. In the first chapter, a "girl gone wild" is described with a high school senior giving her virginity away and then the examples go right to grown women having affairs, leaving their husbands, and other adult scenarios that really wouldn't apply to the vast majority of teen girls. The content for women 18+ is great, but I think the title implies that girls should read it--and it's not for *every* girl, IMO. If your teen has to ask what a certain sexual activity referred to in the book IS, then it's not age appropriate for her. No matter which other girls are reading it. Just an FYI to parents who desire to be involved in their kids' book selections!

This book hits important issues from an entirely biblical explanation. I was impressed by the author's ability to present reasons from a spiritual point of view, rather than a set of guidelines based on how Christian girls should behave and be seen by others. Girls Gone Wise is not focused on modifying behaviour for the sake of being a "good" girl, but on understanding how our attitudes, character, appearance demonstrate Christ to others, and a make an unmistakeable statement...sometimes without words.

Girls Gone Wise by Mary A. Kassian is a powerful indictment of the modern woman. Kassian compares the foolish woman and wise woman of Proverbs and contrasts them both to the modern woman. She doesn't pull any punches, and readers will feel deeply convicted. I know as I started reading the book, I initially had a long list of people I wanted to give a copy to, but as I progressed further, I realized that it was me who needed these words of wisdom. Kassian castigates the popular idea of serial monogamy and uses Scripture to support her attack on a lifestyle that God certainly doesn't condone. That's not the only life choice that's under attack, flirting, selfishness, gender role confusion are all discussed. Kassian's words will not earn her the title of Most Popular, but they are true words that must be spoken in a world that continually turns away from God and biblical living. I found myself convicted again and again by my own selfishness. This is not an easy book to read, but I highly recommend it to every woman who wants to strengthen her relationship with God and live a more fulfilling life.

Girls Gone Wise is a timely and much-needed study of godly womanhood. In a culture saturated with liberal feminism, it is easy to lose sight of how to be biblically feminine. In her contrast of the Girl Gone Wild and the Girl Gone Wise, Kassian does not simply present a list of rules and regulations. Instead, she examines the motivations and heart attitudes which characterize wisdom and wildness. Her teaching is biblical, insightful, convicting, and compelling. I recommend this book for all women whether 13 or 113.

As women, we are bombarded daily by the world with messages about sex. Often those messages slyly infiltrate our lives via what we hear, listen to, watch, and conversations with friends. This book is very timely even if you are not struggling with the temptations of the world. It will remind you to guard your heart and mind and your family!
