This book is absolutely wonderful. If your child is asking questions about God, Jesus and what that means, this well written story will gently and clearly answer the questions. The story will keep their attention. The main character struggles with the circumstances of her life. Through those circumstances she finds "fullness of joy" as she finds and accepts God's will for her life.

What a relief to find a great book like this! It is very similar to The Secret Garden by Hodgeson Burnett. A girl of 10 who is a very selfish, only child; leaves her single mother to live in the country; finds a garden to care for etc. There is much more meat and plot to the story than this...like she asks Jesus into her heart!!:) It is a well written edition with substantial characters, plot, Christian character teaching and much more. I bought this for my daughter of 7 1/2 and is a good fit. I'm excited to read more of Patricia St.John.
