I thought the book "Staying Pure" was absolutely fabulous. I ordered the entire series, as we're forming a Purity group of young ladies and just beginning a book club for the different age groups (where the 13-19 will be reading from this series).
My daughter absolutely loved this series!! Initially I thought the content was a little forward for my 13 year old, but the author is very careful how she moves the characters in and out of the controversial situations using her faith as her guide.
I bought this book for my daughter about 2 years ago. She had slip off her Christian Walk she said the book help her and encourage him. My daughter and I have now started a purity girls club with 7 teenagers from 13-19 most of them have completed the Payton Skky Series and now reading the Perry Skky Series. We have open up the group to some teenaged young men that are staying pure. They said the books help them to stay on course because these are things they are dealing with everyday in life. So it's easy reading. My prayer is that God continue to use Stephanie Perry Moore. She is one of God's Sweetest Gifts!
I found the first book in the Payton Skky series, at my local library, and I thought it would be an interesting book to read...At first I thought it would be boring, because it had a slow beginning, but a little further into the book, it got interesting..I have read almost all 5 books in the series, and i have loved reading every one of them! Congratulations to Stephanie Perry Moore for making such great books, and also thanks to Mrs. Moore, because the Payton Skky books are very uplifting and encouraging through problems that alot of teenagers have..I found these books touching, and I loved them..even if I wasnt african-american myself.
I recently started a Christian Debutante program in the Austin Texas area; in a telephone conversation with the director of Elite Women of Excellence in the Atlanta area, this book was recommended. The book is on point and the author has an amazing ability to relate to teenage young ladies. As an adult I was pulled into her story. My seventeen year old daughter read Staying Pure in one evening. I was slightly disappointed that the stores in Austin had zero to one copy only. I plan to purchase this book and the entire series for my debs.
I read this book for an abstinence program that I am going to start. I am focusing on girls age 13-19. I absolutely loved this book. It is so (real). So many young ladies are going through what Payton was going through and this book has shown them with God all things are possible and in and through it all God knows what is best for you:)
