Pornography is now a major problem in nearly 50 percent of all U.S. homes. And when asked, more than 50 percent of Christian men have recently visited a pornographic site. The men whom Dr. Denny Frederick counsels - church leaders, pastors, husbands, and fathers - are from "normal" American homes. And they have a terrible, life-threatening secret: an addiction to pornography. This timely and provocative book is intended for men who seriously want to overcome their addiction to pornography-no matter where they are today. The message is this: You are not alone; God wants you to live a life of freedom and peace. Chapters help readers achieve personal recovery as well as restoration of relationships with wives and children.

Don't waste your time, there are better options!
Date:June 14, 2013
Most of the information doesn't help in the recovery process but causes shame (not guilt), shame says you are fundamentally a bad person this increases the chance of relapse and makes recovery less likely.
This book is like a poorly organized partially accurate text book on sex addiction. Page 227 (practical steps) is the only useful page in the book and I have seen it done much better.
If you want to recover from sexual addiction DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, there are much better options. Check out recovery groups like Prodigals International and books like Facing the Shadow by Patrick Carnes. If you are considering seeing a therapist seek out a certified sexual addiction therapist (CSAT) and whatever you do make sure there is a structured plan/path for recovery.

Review 2 for Conquering Pornography: Overcoming the Addiction
Date:December 23, 2012
I bought this book to try and get some insight to the addiction to pornography after finding out about my bf's addiction. I also bought him Every Man's Battle and thought that was helpful but was a bit too graphic as some of the illustrations actually can cause someone to stumble just from reading it. This book addresses the ROOT to the addiction and does it in a straight forward (not graphic) way. It offers scriptures to read and goes into finding victory over the addiction. The author addresses the sin and tries hard to encourage the man to endure the battle over his addiction with the help of God and staying victorious. My boyfriend has looked it over briefly and is really excited to read it after I'm done and he finishes Every Man's Battle. I have just a couple more pages left and am excited to see any more advice he offers to stay victorious and information on how women can support the men that are struggling with this addiction. From just the bit that my boyfriend read he already likes it better than EMB because it seems like practical approaches rather than needless graphic experiences the authors remember about their lust issues. The only critique I'd give is to not just talk about wives but also girlfriends or other females in the lives of the men addicted to porn.
