In /The Making of an Atheist, How Immorality Leads to Unbelief/, James S. Spiegels words cut deeply into my own doubts and obfuscations regarding God and provide an amazingly clear glimpse of my own rebellious spirit toward God. The author clearly describes the cause of atheism using Biblical references packed with logic in this pithy work that is short in words and long on need for reflection. I come from this book with a clear understanding of how the issue of atheism is manifest in a persons life, and an allusion to the certain results of atheism lived out. Change that is necessary to break the mode that embodies atheistic thinking is briefly discussed, however at the close of the book I find myself longing for more of Spiegels insights regarding the cure for my own doubts relating to God in my own life. Perhaps a more detailed discourse on the remedy for the soul is being held over to another day.
