I found it a very good story about relationships, as well as the wild horses - good ending too...

We enjoyed this movie! The kids were able to write a short essay on what it would be like to live on an island of wild horses without other peers.

Thought it covered Oh so many realities of life and how different situations can cause buried griefs or reactions in adults and children who bury their troubles within.
I was delighted by the joy that evolved and freedom that came about in this movie, in both Mark and His Aunt, etc...
Of course I loved, his being able to care for the young horse who lost its mom and all that evolved in doing so.
A great movie to see again!
(Oh and what a joy to see how his Aunt helped him to overcome his learning disfunction.)

This was not the horse/boy story I thought it would be, instead it turned out to be a very emotional, healing story of a damaged boy sent to stay with a damaged Aunt.
An excellent tool to help the hurting see there is hope for healing. Guidance needed for children that have been abused, while watching this film, to get through the "abusive appearing" scenes. Beautifully done, with powerful lessons of life and love.

This movie was very well done - a great story and excellent acting. The young actor playing Mark did an excellent job, as did Jane Seymour. Her gradual softening toward the boy and toward life in general was very realistically acted and very touching to watch. The ending was a nice touch, as well. The footage for the wild horses. especially the foal, was breathtaking!

I really like this DVD. It shows Fiona's heart opening to Mark, and the colt. When Fiona and Mark left the island she published her book and met her son before she passed on. Perfect.

This was a terrible disappointment. I thought this would be good based on the reviews, wrong. Jane Seymour is in this, I thought she would be good. The character she plays, Aunt Fiona, is not a nice person, she's very difficult to be around and she doesn't use nice language. I ended up throwing this in the trash, a waste of money. I couldn't get past her awfulness and don't want this kind of movie for my family. Don't be lured by the fact that Jane Seymour is in it. She isn't always nice in movies, even though I like her as a person.

This is a beautifully made movie. The story is engrossing and the island and horses are fascinating. As the back of the cover states, it is a story about compassion and family ties, it is also, about grieving and healing after a devastating loss. I don't know what the back cover means when it says it is a story about faith. Perhaps it is the restoration of Fiona's faith in mankind. If all you are looking for is good clean movie than it is fine, enjoy, but if you are looking for a Christian movie that glorifies God this is not the movie for you. Even with all of the beauty of creation before their eyes, God is not mentioned or sought after. It is as if he didn't exist or is not a very real help in the time of trouble.
