Thought it held to the Bible account prety well,but really needed some better acting. Would have liked to have seen more drama of what it really must have been like for Joseph and Mary and there Families to deal with this situation.

yes, it is not word for word from scripture, but it made me realize the hardship of Mary and Joseph and the faith they had.

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the wise men show up not long after the shepherds. That doesn't mesh with the Biblical timetable. However, I can live with that as long as I point it out to my students when we watch the movie in Sunday School. They needed to include the wise men to complete the story's beginning which shows King Herod ordering the slaughter of the Jewish children 2 and under in an effort to destroy the King born of the Jews.

This should be seen by families every Christmas season, along with other "Christmas classics". Experiencing the Nativity through the eyes/background of Mary & Joseph should make us reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

Beautiful cinematography, excellent comedy relief in a respectful manner, interesting take on the story, though the wise men do come at the nativity site as the movie doesn't continue too much further in the story than that. But the people who viewed it thoroughly enjoyed it and it opened good discussion about Christ.

This is the best representation of Roman Judea I've ever seen in a Nativity movie. It really brings out how hard it was for Mary (and for all subjects at that time). The longing for a Messiah is palpable. Herod's filocidal thirst for power is chilling. How vunerable Jesus' arrival on this earth was is evident. This movie Has greater biblical accuracy than most others as well. The obedience and faith of Mary is not questioned. Many lines are direct quotes straight from scripture. I love watching this film and was thrilled when CBD offered it at such a great price. I bought extra copies as gifts.

A realistic, honestly-portrayed telling of the nativity of Jesus. A welcome bit of humor among the magi nicely balances the storyline, and the anticipating and wonder come to a satisfying culmination as wise men and shepherds come to worship the King. Highly recommended for all ages.

I'm sure every person has their own idea as to how life really was and how things played out in those days. That makes it difficult to satisfy a large audience, but I think this movie did an admirable job at the overall depiction of the story. Biblically, historically, while weaving an entertaining plot. Over all it was satisfying for us.

This movie gives a great insight into the details surrounding the birth of our Lord and Savior. I especially enjoyed how it remained factual to the Gospel according to St. Luke. The acting is superb and the scenery enticing.
