New Dawn Management LLCCharlotte, NC AreaAge: 35-44Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Manual For The Novice Pastor / StudentFebruary 8, 2013New Dawn Management LLCCharlotte, NC AreaAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Understanding and Applying the Bible, Revised and Updated. This is an excellent resource for the seminary student and / or novice pastor who needs to understand exegesis.
The chapters are written in language that is very plain and easy to understand. The author's thoughts are very organized and I appreciate the "summary" included at the end of every chapter.
Throughout the chapters are listed resources to help the student gain a better understanding of the subject matter. This is a real asset to any seminary student (such as myself). -
Dave RandallSkowhegan, MEAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Excellant introduction to the subjectAugust 31, 2012Dave RandallSkowhegan, MEAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Understanding and Applying the Bible, Revised and Updated.Sound introduction to hermeneutics assuming inerrancy and a gramatical/historical approach. Very clearly written and non-academic in style. Although designed as a college level course text it is easily accessible to the average reader who is serious about learning the subject. Contrary to another review I do not believe any prior training is necessary.
