Other than the Bible, there are a few books which have had such an impact that they actually changed something in me. This is one of them. I first read this book at a time when my "quiet time" had become a dry routine. Author Jan Johnson gently challenged me to take God beyond the box of my devotional time into every waking moment of my life, and so began a new season of growth in my walk w/ God. I recommend it highly; in fact, it's the most-loaned book in my library.P.S. This book should be accessible to both men and women, as it doesn't have the chattiness common to many Christian books by female authors.

Using this book for a women's Bible Study group and it has been easy to follow. The theme of knowing God and having him present in all we do each day has generated a lot of in depth disscusion. A wonderful and practical book.

Jan Johnson draws the reader back to desiring friendship with God more than anything else in life. Everyone can have an ever-present awareness of God without being spooky. Jan translates Brother Lawrence's principles of Christian living into 21st century language.
