Reformation Heritage / Soli Deo GloriaThe Evil of Evils
This treatise has one recurring theme: it is better to choose affliction than sin. What a different message this is from what is being propagated today from many pulpits, religious radio or television! Anything but affliction! But Burroughs, ever the master at handling Scripture and expounding godly wisdom, show that nothing is to be more feared than sin, nothing is to be more hated than sin. May it please God to use this book, back in print after nearly 350 years, to give us once again a dread of sin, a hatred for sin, and a love for holiness.

This book does a great job of explaining the evils of sin and how it opposes God and opposes all that is good. Although some chapters of the book are to reach out to non believers, the book overall should be useful to all Christians, as probably none of us really comprehends the evils of our sin.
