This book has really opened my mind to how much of ordinary life is also part of the homeschool curriculum. It has helped me to incorporate the children into the daily tasks about the home, realising that I am training them for life away from home one day. I have thought more about the skills they need to learn and taught them by my side, and it has been enjoyable. The ideas in this book are fun and easy to do. The resources section is jam packed with helpful sites etc.

I checked this book out at the library at the recommendation of the Boy Scout magazine. I was only half way through and realized that I wanted to highlight a bunch of information. So, I ordered it from CBD. I am so happy I did. It is a book I will refer to again and again. It helped me realize my boys are quite capable of doing more than I and they realized. The change has been amazing. I highly recommend this book; but get your own, you may want to highlight.

I highly recommend this book. There is so much to teach our children that we forget things. This book will guide you with training ideas for appropriate ages. You will reap the benefits and your kids will learn much about running a home both inside and out.

This book is a blessing for any parent who needs the nuts and bolts on how to raise wise children. The information is Biblical, concise and useful. I needed the reminders and instantly put the new common sense suggestions to use with my oldest child. Mrs. Field presented precise information on basic skills and how to successfully encourage your child in accomplishing those skills. It was as if she had been listening in on the prayers for my children. There is so much wisdom in the pages of this book! As a homeschooling mom I want my children to accomplish much more than academics - I want them to Biblically succeed in this life. This book is an answer to my prayers!

I would buy this book and give it to everyone if I had the money! This book should be on every shelf of every home. How can we implement common good sense( though-not so common anymore) from our fore-fathers and pioneers into today? How can we put into action spiritual principles that guide everyday practical matters? This book is so easy to understand, and creates the visions and goals necessary for imparting timeless truths!
