The book is true to the rear cover statements; the tools in this book will keep you coming back. It is amazing how succinct the creators have made the information yet not lacking important information. It is divided into the books of the Bible and covers many theme of the book and organizes well the subjects covered in that book. It is great for someone who has been studying the Bible for years or the one who is just getting started.

I purchased this edition from Christianbook.com and it's a worthwhile investment considering the great low price. However, for $6 more one can purchase the full color 3rd edition (which I did) that also gives the buyer free access to the same great charts online, which can then be downloaded and used for personal study, bible studies, sermon or teaching inserts, etc. Use Christianbook.com's keyword search to locate the 3rd edition. Happy shopping!

Both the "Nelson Bible Maps and Charts" and "Tyndale's Handbook of Bible maps and Charts" are great -- good overviews and espcially for handouts in class. Both have a couple of major weaknesses.
The Nelson book does not have an index. Tyndale's does.
Although Nelson's chart on Acts acknowledges the power and expansion of the New Testament church, it does not refer to the church's beginning. Tyndale's is a glaring omission.
Neither have a focus on becoming a Christian, the most important answer to the question, "How does one become a Christian?" Acts chapter two is about the beginning of the church and how one receievs the forgiveness of sins, thereby restoring fellowship between the sinner and God. Neither book includes charts or even a sentence on either of these most important points.
The Nelson book does not have an index. Tyndale's does.

Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts has a wealth of lists, book summaries, and other very helpful information for busy Bible class teachers, preachers, or students who simply want some of the most important main points from a Bible book as well as other factual nuggets that help in understanding that book. As a preacher, I find this resource to be very helpful and have bought more copies for my family to use.

I knew that the book would be probably what I was looking for. It certainly gave far, far, far better info than the last book of charts and maps that I had gotten from you before. I would have loved for the maps to have been in color AND I really would have loved a chart showing how the earth was populated after the Flood, the names of the regions then and now and the races (I know this is in the Bible). Can you recommend where I can get this info? I had it before but have misplaced it.

The study of scripture is a wonderful endeavor. This nelsons book of maps, and charts gives a great overview of each chapter as you study. It is actually more like a comentary, than a book of maps and charts like the title states. It is a wonderful help, and thanks to cbd, its affordable, and a great addition to any bible study library.
