I must admit that this book by Ms. Leigh was a bit slower for me than her previous books. As been said, Maggie's story offered a more sobering view from previous books. You will laugh, but you will also shed a few tears - not a bad combination, admittedly, but not what you expect to do when you've subconsciously set yourself up to laugh 'til the cows come home so to speak. The topics the book dealt with were very serious ones, however, which may have lent to the more serious tone of the book. Maggie's character, through her past recriminations, demonstrates that grace isn't cheap, nor is the road to forgiveness an easy one. Reece, though shadowed by his own past, isn't hindered by his past as much as Maggie is by hers, and he reminded me somewhat of the prodigal son's brother. The end was indeed a tear jerker, and though it took me much longer to complete this book, I found that the book was well worth the read. Thanks again, Ms. Leigh :-)

I'll admit it.... I'm a huge Tamara Leigh fan. Her books are always FUN!! Nowhere, Carolina took a bit more of a serious turn, but it's underlaid with humor. And heart.

Maggie Pickwick and Reece Thorpe share a less-than-perfect past, but I couldn't stop turning the pages, hoping for the perfect ending. What I got was a great read... in fact, this could be my favorite Tamara Leigh book yet.

Ten pages into the story and I thought "Oh no, another 'wild child with cheap grace' tale." But, and this is a huge but, Tamara wove an authentic story of a woman HONESTLY dealing with her past, forgiveness, genuine faith in Christ, repentance, and consequences - something SO overlooked by many writers. The twists and turns were impressive and unexpected. I enjoyed the first book in the series and found this one even better. This is a keeper and the third book will be on my list.

Nothing brings me more delight than to pick up a brand new Tamara Leigh novel because I know that in the pages I will find enchanting characters, a meaningful story with an uplifting message and Tamara's distinctive and intelligent humour. Nowhere, Carolina steps it up a notch with Maggie struggling to make amends for her wild and defiant youth, determined to prove she is now a responsible mother and member of the Pickwick community. The return of her high school sweetheart, Reece Thorpe brings Maggie's past mistakes into dramatic focus leaving her dissembling in a misguided effort to protect her daughter, Devyn. Honest, witty and captivating, Tamara's first person voice is unparalleled in Christian publishing and I can't wait to read more of her stories.
