This book shows to me how easily the United States could be overtaken by a dictator. The things that are meant to protect us, placed in the wrong hands could then be the means to control us. There is a wonderful section on modern weaponry that is amazing. This book was hard to put down.

Though this was not my favorite book, it was not entirely the fault of the author. I struggled through this book because many of the subjects it contained were not of particular interest to me. I read with some interest about all the secret alliances, new technology capable of tracking people, and new weapons technology. While I do believe in a literal anti-Christ and in a coming one-world government, I was left wondering what to do about all of the information pertaining to the "shadow government." If Mr. Jeffrey believes, like I think he does, that the one-world government, led by the anti-Christ is an unchangeable fact of the future, then how does this knowledge help us? What is the call to action? I'm reminded that most Christians throughout history have believed that they were living in the last days. I think God designed it that way. I do see the author's point that all of this new technology does seem to facilitate many of the aspects depicted in Daniel's 70th week, but merely making these things possible does not necessitate that the events of this prophecy are imminent. I think that many readers will find this book fascinating, but they will be left to themselves to figure out what to do with the information.Disclosure: As a member of the WaterBrook Multnomah Blogging for Books program, I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

Jeffrey says his goal, ...is to provide believers with books they can give to their friends and neighbors who do not yet have a personal faith in Christ.If you want to give this book, do not give it to a person who is up to date on current events or with knowledge of physics or science. Much of what Jeffrey would have the reader believe is breaking news is old stuff. When you read this book, keep one bookmark at his footnotes. It will disappoint you.When Jeffrey talks about futuristic weapons, he is way out of his element. He mentions, a beam weapon known as a collective accelerator. It uses powerful magnets to accelerate the orbits [sic] of electrons around the nuclei of atoms to the speed of light. (See p. 93.) If you believe this, try to tell that to the people at CERN who have built the Large Hadron Collider near Geneva. The project is the worlds largest and highest-energy particle accelerator and it is expecting speeds of only 99.9999991% of the speed of light (and they are having trouble doing that right now).Jeffrey would have the reader believe in the invention of a Star Trek type photon torpedo device. The footnote refers to a patent from 1989! And the Voice of God weapon? Jeffreys source is a blog that ends with, Does it exist? I dont know. Jeffrey tries to convince the reader there are secret organizations dedicated to one global government. While their meetings and membership are supposed to be secret, Jeffrey knows all about them and their agendas. Jeffrey says his book is far from sensationalism. I disagree. If youve read Grant Jeffrey, you already know whats in this book. If youve never read Jeffrey, skip this book. Hell have another one in about a year and that one might have some truly new information worth reading.This book was provided for review by the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group.

Great book. The author presents his facts backed up by evidence. Though a bit scary to find out some things in the book, it was enlightening and shows that we must be close the end.

In his book Shadow Government, author Grant R. Jeffrey explores the recent developments in technology and government in an attempt to make a case for the coming of the last days. Packed with figures and facts, the book is a bit difficult to read. We are not the first generation to think the end times are near. Nor, perhaps, will we be the last. It is also disappointing in its lack of Scripture references used to support the evidence uncovered.

Your eyes will be opened as you read Shadow Government and realize how close the United States is to becoming part of the one world government. Everything is in place, organizations who answer to no one but push a one world agenda and our technology is so advanced with tracking devices that you will see how easily "the mark of the beast" can be implemented. After reading this book, I watch current events a bit closer as I now see that the "end times" are upon us. How will you prepare for that? How will you help your friends and neighbors prepare? Things to think about in the current times.

In Shadow Government Grant Jeffrey reveals the truths about the secret global elite who is using surveillance against us. He gives scripture from the Prophets who fortold what is to come, and through those scriptures he is able to reveal what we are blind to. Our government is telling us only bits and pieces of what they want us to know and keeping the rest secret. The news media only gives account of what the government allows, leaving us to try to fill in the gaps. Grant Jeffery unfolds before us the secret elite who hold the power of the world and want to gain totally power to bring us into a one world government. This book is an eye opening account of truths that our government is deceiving us about. Grant Jeffery gives us notes throughout each chapter that we do not have to take one mans opinion on, but to seek for ourselves what is happening right before our eyes.
