I am using this book for the to homeschool a four-year-old kindergartener who is excited about getting into "real" book work. The pages are great for extra practice on writing numbers, counting objects to circle them, and identifying more advanced shapes. We combine this book with counting 1's and 10's on the number chart, and exposure to money and the clock, which they also refer to and then teach in this book.

My daughter and I love this book! It started out easy for her, but by lesson 20, is already introducing new concepts. I love how colorful the pages are and the spiraling (review) makes sure she remembers everything she has learned.

I bought this for my daughter. I home school her. She took the online test on the Sonlight Curriculum website, and found that she was ready for K curriculum. We bought the workbook through here since it was the cheapest price online.

My son really enjoys the workbook pages in this curriculum. He always has some sort of comment on the pictures. A lot of them make him laugh. And he has really learned a lot of math. However, if your child already has a good understanding of numbers, some portions of the workbook pages will feel redundant. Also, we skipped roughly the first 30 lessons because it was stuff he already knew. It starts off pretty basic. Like counting to 10. However, after you get past all that stuff, there is plenty to learn and I think it is presented well. The lessons keep his interest and the worksheets aren't so long that he gets bored with them. Overall, I would say this is a good product.

This is my second time around with a Horizons workbook, and we love it more now than even the first time. My kindergartener looks forward to and loves the workbook pages... he's choosing to do math FIRST now! Great resource, easy to administer, easy to learn from.

I am very happy with this math curriculum. My daughter uses Horizon for grade 2, and my son wanted to do the same thing she was, so I ordered the kindergarten version. It is a fabulous curriculum with spiral learning and introduction of concepts I never thought would be used in kindergarten. Things that I would have missed if I didn't have a curriculum. It will make his learning much easier to have this background in math.

I love this book. For someone new to teaching math to a toddler, This book is great. The spiral approach ensures that each lesson is slightly different and it's not boring for the child. The book is colorful too. The teachers' manual is really not necessary.

very gentle and easy to use...this is the second child I have chosen to use it for...I use this book when my children are 4 years old...although it is labeled for Kindergarten, I think it might be a little too easy for most 5 year olds...works perfectly for the relaxed pace of Pre-K

I eagerly anticipated homeschooling my children and am enjoying it in general. My son enjoys this workbook a lot. It repeats concepts without being boring. It is bright and colorful which can be distracting to my son. I love that he can work through so much of it on his own. I can then look over his work and see how he has done and we discuss what he has learned. I did not get the teacher guide and have never felt that he is missing anything.

I am a homeschooling mom with an elementary education degree. I've used Saxon but don't like the boring worksheet and countless drills. My son always saved math for last because he did not like the chore it was to complete the boring gray and black pages. Plus, 100 problems a page? It was a bit much and after a certain point becomes busy work. I use a combination of Math U See and Horizons for a complete math curriculum. Horizons offers the comprehensive learning I like along with colorful pages to captivate my children, K and grade 3, but Math U See teaches the children more about the processes and why. Plus, I like how Horizons is more advanced than other math curriculums. I have my children do 2 pages in Math U See and one page in Horizons every day.

I like this book for its colorful pictures and fun activities. I use this book along with the liberty math as a reinforcer and a break from formality.

I really love Horizons Math. I have used it for my son for grades 3-4 also. It is very thorough and complete and is colorful and engaging. It does move at a quick pace, and students work on a variety of concepts on one worksheet, so it may not be for everyone. But, for us, it has been wonderful!

My daughter is very bright and was quickly bored with this curriculum's repetitiveness. Lesson after lesson of "Write the number before" exhausted her. We ended up crossing off a third of the problems in an effort to keep the knowledge current in her learning but not so boring that she refused to do it.
