Big Idea The League of Incredible Vegetables, DVD

It's a normal day in Bumblyburg . . . until Dr. Flurry comes to town with an army of penguins! Sounds like a job for Larry-Boy, but he gets frozen by his enemy's superior tactics. Rushing to his rescue, the League of Incredible Vegetables (Thingamabob, aka Bob the Tomato; S-Scape, aka Mr. Lunt; Vogue, aka Petunia Rhubarb; and Ricochet aka Junior Asparagus) attempts to unfreeze Larry-Boy, but can they overcome their fears and rescue the city? This heroic new VeggieTales episode teaches about handling fear. It features the new theme song and music video from Newsboys, plus the silly song "Super Hero". Closed-captioned. Approx. 50 minutes.

Get out your popcorn bowl and costumes for a super hero family movie night with your kids!! This is by far the best Veggie Tale movie ever!! It has a tight story line that moves along and doesn't get bogged down. The music is exciting and the script creative! My son has watched this one at least 20 times! Whic means... my husband and I can nearly recite the entire thing..... :D tooo fun!!! Buy it!!! Your kids will love it! You will love it!! It would be fantastic for a family movie night! It's an easy, peasey, lemon squeezy choice! :D

The music was phenonmenal. and the bonus music video with the newsboys was great. The kids loved the movie and so did I. I really appreciated the scene where the balloon popping was actually toned down a little, so that my 3-year old was not actually afraid of Dr. Flurry.
This is a great movie.

In another great release from "Big Idea" productions, The League of Incredible Vegetables is another story in the long live of great videos that teaches a value with songs, animation and good clean fun. I personally really liked this story (as well as my 7 year old) because even as an adult we all need to learn the lesson of overcoming our fear and trusting God. All your favorite VeggiTales characters get to be super heroes in this adventure as they team up to help Larry Boy, and in the process, learn how to handle fear. Using the story of David against Goliath as an example, Junior learns that God is with him and that there is no need to fear.
The Newsboys do another incredible job at creating a great song and the DVD comes with the music video. There is also an "League of Incredible Vegetables" app in the android marketplace as well. The silly song isn't my favorite (which happens to be Dance of the Cucumber), but the Bad Guys & Penguins are pretty funny!

Every year my son gets a Veggie Tale CD in his Christmas stocking. This was the video for 2012. The whole family enjoyed this one. It seems Veggie Tales went through a little slump after their early years - still creative videos with good and meaningful storylines. But somehow it wasn't like the early years. This one felt like they were trying to return to some of their roots. The adult humor mixed with the storyline for kids was there. And the lesson was clearly there. Hope this is a trend that continues.

I loved the ideas for the superpowers, and the "process" of discovering Junior's power. Nice touch with Vogue and the penguins.

I was worried my kids would think it was too slow or too "babyish" for them (they are 5 and 7)...but to my surprise they LOVE it and have watched it over and over!! (I love a movie that holds my kids attention!) They loved the storylines, the characters (Larry Boy) and the lesson on fear. And the music, by Newsboys, is catchy too!

Clink of the link for my complete review for the new Veggie Tales movie: The Incredible Vegetables. This super-hero action adventure is fun for the whole family and deals with fear and how it can freeze us. When Junior's super suit becomes deactivated, he must learn to trust the One who will never fail him. At the end of my post is a link from Focus on the Family, to sign up to get some free downloads including a parent discussion guide and some Veggie Tale super-hero cards.

-and THAT'S saying something! Coming up on 20 years now, VeggieTales has been putting out one spectacular episode after another. And now, with all of the really big super hero movies coming out, what better time to bring back LARRYBOY? 6 years since his last adventure, he's now joined by a team of super heroes, played by favorite characters Bob, Petunia, Mr. Lunt and Junior. One should be made aware that even though LarryBoy is front and center, it's Ricochet (Junior) that steals the show. The villain is a fun character who's not too scary, the music (especially the Newsboys theme) is top notch, and honestly, who DOESN'T like Penguins? This episode stands as proof that Big Idea's still got it, showing that even after 2 decades the quality of their videos stands. HIGHLY recommended.
