This resource has helped me guide two couples in 2012 toward healthy beginnings in their lives. With one couple the material helped weed out problem areas that needed discussing and prevented an ill advised union so both parties could move forward in a healthy manner. With the other couple, it solidified mutual values and healthy pre-existing communication and shared goals for marriage. While there is more than enough content to cover in this resource it's not all meant to be covered but serve as a guide for discussion and eventual marital health. The Frisbies REALLY know what they are doing and it shows in this resource.

This large-format book is about the same size as an older resource by Norm Wright that I used years ago. Wright is an excellent source of premarital materials but I picked up this new title because of my previous experience with these two authors. I was not disappointed!
"Right from the Start" gets to the point --- quickly and well. It contains some of the most detailed, insightful, immediately useful guidance I've seen anywhere --- structured in a way that lets you have confidence as you minister and serve.
There is a related book (also here on CBD) for couples. This oversize counselors guide accompanies the book but has a lot of additional material for pastors and counselors. It is very candid, very frank, very thorough --- including about issues such as pre-marriage sexual experiences.
If we're serious about helping couples thrive and go the distance, I'm convinced this is the kind of approach we'll need. As a minister or counselor, you'll reach for this book often --- not just when the couple is in your office.
An excellent new resource that deserves your consideration.
